About the Club

Brookwood chess club is in its 7th year and growing as a team.  We have great parent and adult help which keeps the club running and giving the students a great environment to learn.

In club they fill out chess cards as they complete games, we encourage them by giving rewards on the 4 levels below that counts #'s of games and skills they pass off. Each level has a different cool sticker they add to the achievement board.

I continue to send home chess homework, which are not mandatory, but if they complete them they gets stickers on their name tag on the wall.  I also suggest you play chess with them.  If you’re not very good it’s even better for them- they can teach you!  The best way they learn is teaching others.

Here is great read of the value of chess club http://www.championshipchess.net/inSchool.html
